In 1986 we became a national museums service, and this year we are celebrating our 30th birthday.
Many of our museums and galleries have a much longer history, and our collections and connections span centuries. Lots of exciting developments have also taken place more recently. The last 30 years have seen two more museums open, with the International Slavery Museum and Museum of Liverpool both having an impact in Liverpool and forging links around the world.
National Museums Liverpool aims to be a leading example of an excellent and inclusive museum service. We hope you'll join with us in celebrating some of our highlights from the last 30 years. These range from the acquisition and care of rare items, through award-winning dementia care training, to international exhibition tours.
Thanks to everyone who has been part of the journey so far, including all our visitors, and we look forward to seeing you at one of the museums and galleries soon.
