Guidelines for artists working in the venues
These guidelines cover visiting artists at World Museum, the Walker Art Gallery, Lady Lever Art Gallery, Sudley House, Merseyside Maritime Museum and the National Conservation Centre.

Art materials
- Pencils, pencil crayons, conté crayons, graphite sticks and rotring pens are acceptable.
- Please do not use felt tip pens, fountain pens, charcoal sticks or fixative sprays (including hairspray)
- Please take care not to place any of your art materials on any type of exhibit, showcase or furniture in the galleries.
- We may have to restrict drawing and sketching at busy times or in small rooms.
- Watercolours and oils may only be used by special arrangement in advance. Please apply in writing to the Curator of Fine Art.
- We regret we cannot allow groups of visitors to use watercolours or oils.
Groups
- Art groups wishing to make arrangements to draw in the galleries must book in advance via Learning Bookings at the Walker Art Gallery. Telephone: 0151 478 4178, fax: 0151 478 4110, or e-mail using the Contact us form.
Personal belongings
- Please bring the minimum of personal belongings, coats, bags, etc.
- Please deposit bulky items in the cloakroom.
- Please do not leave any items unattended at any time.
- Please take care not to block any circulation routes of fire exits.
Consideration for other visitors
- Please be considerate of other visitors and take litter away with you. Artists wishing to draw in the gallery should report to the Entrance Desk.
