Image requests

Please note that the deadline for ordering images for Christmas delivery has now passed, however, we will do our best to fulfill all orders as soon as possible.

National Museums Liverpool offers two types of reproductions services:

Commercial services: for anyone wishing to reproduce an image in any format within a commercial context.

Private services: for anyone who wishes to reproduce an image for study, personal display or reference purposes.

What we sell

National Museums Liverpool has encyclopaedic collections. We sell images from all parts of the collections - you can browse through our top 100 images here. If you don't see the image that you want, contact our Photographic Service and our staff will help you to identify the image you want and advise if it is available. Over time, we shall add to our online image bank as we digitise our collections and transparency archive.

Web use

Unless they are credited to another individual or institution, all of the images on the NML website are wholly owned or licensed by NML. Visitors to the website are welcome to save, copy and print images from the website, provided that they are solely for their own personal use. Images printed from the website must not be used for reproduction or wider dissemination.

Third party copyright

Please note that some items within our collections are covered by copyright legislation and in addition to National Museum
Liverpool's copyright on the photograph, you may need to clear copyright with the copyright holder (usually the artist or their estate). Artistic works are protected in the EU from the date of creation for a period of the lifetime of the artist plus a minimum of 70 years. Where possible and appropriate we will provide you with contact details. The Design and Artists Copyright Society (DACS) represents many artists and estates for matters of copyright in the UK. You can contact DACS on Tel: 020 7336 8811, Fax: 020 7336 8822 or visit their web site (link www.dacs.co.uk).
