National Museums Liverpool is filled with free festive fun this Christmas

Travel back in time and find out what Christmas time was like during the First World War. The Museum of Liverpool is holding a Wartime Christmas event to go with the exhibition First World War: reflecting on Liverpool's Home Front. Visitors can join us for talks, handle objects from our collections and craft activities.

Also at the Museum of Liverpool little ones can hear festive tales in our Tales from the Tent (20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30 December, 2, 3 January)

The Walker Art Gallery is holding Christmas Crafts in Big Art. Little Artists can come along for seasonal craft actives (20, 22, 23 December) After Christmas you can also come into Big Art and create a collage calendar to celebrate the New Year (31 December, 3, 4 January)

Join us in the Lady Lever Art Gallery for our Festive Fun workshop. You can come and get in the spirit of Christmas by making crafts in the gallery (23 December) After Christmas why not celebrate the New Year early by making your own calendar in the Making Dates workshops at the Lady Lever Art Gallery on 29 and 30 December.

Little Christmas Elves have left a few treats on our ship, come and see if you can find all of them in our Christmas Rummage workshop (31 December) in the Border Force National Museum (situated at the Merseyside Maritime Museum)

Find the perfect Christmas gift online at the National Museums Liverpool gift shop; from prints to mugs, and calendars to coasters, there’s a gift to suit everyone. Plus, brighten up someone’s inbox with the range of e-cards available from early December on the Christmas webpage.

Plus, count down to Christmas with the online advent calendar which will include pictures of ‘hidden treasures’ from the National Museums Liverpool collection: http://liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/christmas/advent/. http://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/events/christmas-listings.aspx
