During the war many women joined initiatives such as the Women’s War Service Bureau and contributed their craft skills to knit thousands of pairs of socks and make care packages to send to the troops. Do you love to stitch or would you like to learn more? Do you have a story to tell about an ancestor who was involved in the war effort for the First World War? Learn how to make a ‘sweetheart’ pincushion inspired by those made by soldiers and loved ones.
