Research

About research at National Museums Liverpool

Research is a key activity of National Museums Liverpool.
We undertake and support research:

  • to unravel the histories of our collections,
  • to develop exhibitions and programmes
  • to interpret our diverse collections in a meaningful way to local, national and international audiences.
  • to explore contemporary issues affecting people lives throughout the world (human rights campaigns, environmental protection, sustainable energy ).

We are recognised as an Independent Research Organisation by the Arts and Human Research Council. We are also involved in collaborations with universities.
