Chris joined National Museums Liverpool in 2008 having had an extensive career in mechanical and electrical engineering, structural maintenance and estate management, with both local authority and private practice.

His responsibilities are primarily the fabric and infrastructure of the estate, focused towards delivering safe, effective conditions, for staff, visitors and collections. Chris, working with an excellent team, is currently carrying out a review of the estates mechanical, electrical and fabric infrastructure; having introduced an innovative comprehensive HVAC maintenance contract in 2009 and focused on making National Museums Liverpool more carbon efficient.

Chris originally trained and practiced as an electrical technician, has an honours degree in building and maintenance management and is an incorporate member of the Chartered Institute of Building. He is married with two children, has a passion for Liverpool's social and architectural heritage and enjoys travelling around Britain.
