Conservation

Our team of conservators work to protect and preserve our own collections and also objects from the public or private collections. They specialise in a wide variety of areas including sculpture, paintings, paper, textiles, metal, furniture, frames, shipkeeping and ceramics.

Handling technicians

Handling technicians have the responsibility of moving our collections internally and externally and are specially trained in object handling.

Registrars

Registrars manage and maintain an up-to-date record of objects acquired or disposed of. They organise the loan of objects to and from other institutions and manage the movement of objects within the organisation.

Technical services

Our technical services section work with conservation in the care of the collections by providing expertise in the preparation, installation, maintenance and dismantling of exhibitions.
