NML Director

National Museums Liverpool is one of the world's great encyclopaedic museums, holding in trust globally important collections that are universal in their range. Comprising eight museums and galleries, it is the only national museum group in England based outside London. In 2016/17 National Museums Liverpool welcomed over three million visitors and contributed £53m and 1,200 jobs to the Liverpool City region.

The Trustees are now seeking an exceptional candidate to take on the hugely important and challenging role of Director. This is a critical moment for National Museums Liverpool and the post-holder will be responsible for helping to develop and deliver an ambitious strategy and vision for its future. The Trustees are keen for new thinking at this time of potentially transformational change. The Director will be creative, entrepreneurial and have the skills and experiences required to lead an organisation of considerable breadth and complexity. The Director is a key ambassador and should have excellent communication skills, be adept at public speaking and in stakeholder management in a variety of contexts. Candidates should bring a strong empathy for National Museums Liverpool's values.
