Description: A semi-circular cape with two separate arm pieces attached at the shoulder, and ties at each end of the neck.
This garment has a thatched construction with overlapping leaf strips, probably Cabbage Tree ti kouka (Cordyline australis). It is probably a rain cape (old records say 'grass cape w shoes, worn against rain...').
The leaves are very dry and fragile.
