Medal, 'Pride Games'

About this object

Paul Amann, chair of the Mersey Marauders LGBT football team from 2008 to 2012, was awarded this medal at the Pride Games in Manchester. Though the Mersey Marauders lost their match, this medal was awarded for participating.

The Pride Games is an annual sports event for LGBT people and their friends to participate in various sports. It is held in locations around Manchester and has run annually since 2005. It was set up to challenge homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia in sport, to promote sport to LGBT people, and to support the growth of a vibrant UK wide LGBT sports community through the development of a National LGBT Sports Network.
