About this object

This poster advertises Liverpool’s fourth Pride, which was held on 3 August 2013 to coincide, as in previous years, with the anniversary of the homophobic murder of Liverpool teenager Michael Causer. The theme of Liverpool Pride 2013 was ‘Superheroes’, a theme which had been voted for by around 1,300 people.

The march from St. George’s Plateau attracted an estimated 6,000 people and was followed by performances at stages at the Pier Head and on Dale Street, which was closed to traffic for the day, as well as events in 17 officially participating venues.

Audience figures for Liverpool Pride 2013 reached up to 75,000 - the largest Pride event held in Liverpool to date.

Kindly donated to the Museum of Liverpool by Liverpool Pride.
