The Lutyens cathedral model includes 176 miniature sculptural figures. Only one of the original figures had survived, so our conservators had to create the rest. In real life some of these sculptures would have been twice life size. The miniature sculptures on the model are made from tin as it resists corrosion. They were cast in 99% pure tin in rubber moulds from masters created in wax or plaster. The finished figures are painted to harmonise with the model.
