Legs during overpaint removal

Composite of 3 images of a figure's legs, firstly with dark overpainted patches which are then removed to reveal missing patches of the original paint surface

Where possible, the overpaint from the previous restoration was softened and removed under the microscope. The image above shows three stages of the removal of overpaint from the legs of one figure from the painting.
