Catherine Macauley statue
The sculpture conservation department was commissioned by Warrington Borough Council to conserve and move a marble statue of Catherine Macauley by JF Moore in Warrington Library. The library was to undergo a refurbishment and a new location for the statue had been chosen away from the doorway where it had stood for many years. A special pallet allowing more straightforward movement of the statue in the future was built by technical services staff at National Museums Liverpool. The marble statue was carefully lifted into position on the pallet before being conserved and moved to its new home in the alcove at the entrance to the library.
