Conserving the Blackley war memorial
Manchester City Council asked conservation technologies to conserve and restore the Blackley war memorial in Boggart Hole Clough. The bronze statue and name panels were removed and brought to our studio for conservation while the stone section of the monument was repaired and cleaned in situ. Due to the fixings on the statue the two blocks of stone beneath the bronze statue were attached to the monument and had to be removed as well. This memorial was completed in time for the Remembrance service in November 2006.
