Spectacular close-ups of the natural world are on show during the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Conservation Centre.

All creatures great and small have been captured to create a truly awe-inspiring show. From the cute and cuddly to the slippery and slimy, the exhibition includes images of mammals, insects, birds and fish from the remote corners of the earth. There is also a stunning section on plantlife, full of vibrant colours and unusual specimens.

The international competition, organised by the Natural History Museum and BBC Wildlife Magazine aims to reward the best wildlife photographers from across the world. Their photographs convey the wonder, drama and beauty of life on Earth. Combined, they produce a truly inspirational and beautiful exhibition.

The photographers go to the most extraordinary lengths for their art. From exploring remote islands to swimming shark-infested waters, they endure extreme conditions and employ a remarkable level of patience to get that all-important shot.

The competition attracts professionals and amateur photographers from all over the world. Come and visit Wildlife Photographer of the Year at the Conservation Centre and find out who won this prestigious title in 2004.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition is organised by BBC Wildlife Magazine and The Natural History Museum.
