Spectacular close-ups of the natural world were on show during the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Conservation Centre.
From the cute and cuddly to the slippery and slimy, the exhibition included images of mammals, insects, birds and fish from the remote corners of the earth. There was also a stunning section on plantlife, full of vibrant colours and unusual specimens.

The international competition, organised at the time of this exhibition by BBC Wildlife Magazine| and The Natural History Museum|, attracts professionals and amateur photographers from all over the world, who go to the most extraordinary lengths for their art. From exploring remote islands to swimming shark-infested waters, they endure extreme conditions and employ a remarkable level of patience to get that all-important shot.
