A British war medal 1914-20, awarded to Corporal Alfred Gallagher, 029698, 19th and 1st Battalions, the King’s Liverpool Regiment. Alfred survived the war and remained in the army reserves until 1928. All serving soldiers received both the Allied Victory and the British war medals. The medals were also sent to the families of those soldiers who had died in the Great War.
