This object is clearly indentifiable as a type of mummy. However what is not clear is what it is that the Ancient Egyptians mummified. To unwrap the object is not an accepatble method of understanding what is inside the mummy, as unwrapping it would mean destroying the object forever. The shape of the object is no help either, and in this case there are no markings on the mummy to tell us what it may be.
