This wooden plinth was discovered during the excavation of an Iron Age farmstead near Liverpool. Although the site was occupied between 2,100 and 2,300 years ago, the age of the plinth was unknown. Attempts to use tree-ring dating failed because the plinth doesn't have enough rings to measure.
