This sculpture of the goddess Artemis was made in the 18th century from pieces of a classical sculpture of the goddess, sections of other classical sculptures and newly carved pieces of marble. The newly carved pieces were patinated to make them look old. Artemis was made as a showcase for the restoration studio in Rome that created her. In total the sculpture consists of 123 separate pieces.
