Roman coin
The British Museum Catalogue entry for this coin tells us that it is a Roman coin from Picenum. The history of this coin was changed forever when it was damaged in the fire that destroyed Liverpool Museum (as World Museum Liverpool was then known) during the Blitz in May 1941.
