Amazonian headdress
This headdress is from the Guyana region of the Amazon basin. Feathers for the headdress would be obtained from pet birds when they moulted as well as from birds hunted for food. Amazonian myths tell of a time when animals and humans could talk to each other, marry or even transform into each other.
