Field service postcard
A field service postcard, dated 18 July 1915, sent by 2nd Lieutenant Richard Owen Jenkins to his mother and father. It shows the heavily censored nature of any information that could be sent back from the front. 2nd Lieutenant Jenkins, 1st/5th Battalion, King's Liverpool Regiment, was awarded the Military Cross for his actions on 20 September 1917. He died the next day from wounds received in those actions. He was 25.
