Soldier's notebook
A notebook from the 1920s which belonged to Corporal Alfred Gallagher. The notebook is cloth backed with a card cover and some pages are now loose. It contains handwritten instructions by Corporal Gallagher on aiming, firing and care of weapons. It also contains illustrations of anti-gas measures and a detailed colour drawing of a rifle grenade. Corporal Gallagher, 029698, 19th and 1st Battalions the King’s Liverpool Regiment, served in the First World War and remained in the army reserves until 1928.
