Highlighted objects - and the challenges they present conservators

This object is a scaled down replica head from the St Christopher sculpture at Norton Priory. Laser scanning the original and using the data in a sand-printing process produced the replica head. The original sculpture has had its entire painted surface removed. Only tiny traces remain. The replica head has been re-pigmented to show how the St Christopher sculpture may have looked originally, before the paint was removed.
