Reconstruction of missing elements from the figure of the Bodhisattva of Compassion
Conservation Technologies reconstructed missing elements from a 14th century bronze figure of the Bodhisattva of Compassion using highly accurate laser scanning| and rapid manufacturing techniques.
A number of small elements and their mirror images were produced in a hard nylon material and patinated to look like bronze. Conservators attached the new pieces to the statue, which is now displayed in the Asia section of the World Cultures Gallery| at World Museum.
