Conservation Technologies were commissioned by the National Trust and National Portrait Gallery to produce a marble replica of an 18th century bust of Captain Cook by Lucien Le Vieux for the 'Making Faces 18th Century Style' interactive exhibition at Beningbrough Hall.

Visitors to Beningbrough are encouraged to touch the replica bust, which is displayed alongside the original piece. Two resin 'face masks' of Captain Cook were also produced with noses digitally removed so that visitors can have a go at modelling a new nose. The exhibits were made without touching the original bust.
