Close up of sculpture, showing the detail of the face and long curly hairThe original marble bust of Gibbs from the V&A Museum

Conservation Technologies were commissioned by a private collector, with the permission of the Victoria and Albert Museum, to create a small number of replicas in plaster of an 18th century marble bust of the architect Gibbs by Rysbrack. The original can be seen in the British Galleries at the V&A.

The replication process involved no contact with the original bust.

Have a look at images taken during the replication process in the image gallery.
