Our museums and galleries house fascinating collections, from living bugs to The Beatles, fine art to photography, the Titanic to ancient Egypt.
Conservation technologies
Conservation technologies digitally reconstructed the skull of Leasowe Man, part of the only Roman skeleton to be found on Merseyside. The three extremely fragile pieces were laser scanned and put together on computer. A reconstructed replica of the complete skull was then used to recreate the face of Leasowe Man for the exhibition ‘Living with the Romans’ at the former Museum of Liverpool Life.
Have a look at images of the reconstruction process in the image gallery above.
This video shows a 3D digital reconstruction of the skull.
