The Met Quarter wanted to commemorate the opening of their new shopping precinct in Liverpool city centre, so conservation technologies designed and produced a medal. The design features the new building on one side and the Post Office Memorial sculpture, which is now displayed within it, on the other.
Three materials were used to produce the medal, in bronze, silver and gold together with packaging that displayed them to their fullest detail.
Have a look at images taken of the development of the medal design in the image gallery below. In separate case studies on this website you can see how Conservation Technologies conserved the memorial sculpture and replicated the plaques from the original plinth at its base, as part of the same commission.
