Conservation technologies
This monument was brought to the studio for conservation while its base was moved to a new location within Crewe. It had previously been treated and its surface had been painted, which needed to removed to treat the corrosion underneath. A laser was used to remove the paintwork, which revealed a previously stripped surface. The monument was then treated and coated before it was reinstalled on its new site ready for the Remembrance service in November 2006.
