While the Palm House in Sefton Park, Liverpool was being restored, conservation technologies removed and treated a number of the figures housed in and around it. This included four bronze and four marble figures from the exterior and three other figurative pieces and a marble bench from the interior.

The exterior figures had all suffered environmental damage, with lichen growing on some and traces of graffiti and vandalism. Inside the marble figures and bench had become discoloured with biological growth due to the warm damp environment. After conservation and repairs the restored pieces were gradually returned to the Palm House during August 2001.

Have a look at images of a few of the items that we conserved in the image gallery above.
