Elephant skeleton at Manchester Museum
The elephant skeleton at Manchester Museum was to be re-sited and required a new, more sympathetic frame to provide support. Conservation Technologies designed and built a frame using specially shaped stainless steel rods to follow the contour of the skeleton. Holes which had been drilled into the bone for the previous frame were used for the fixing plates holding the various sections together.
