Glasgow Riverside Museum
We were commissioned by Glasgow City Council to produce over 250 mounts for their historic street scene in the new Riverside Museum of Transport. The scene consists of recreations of old shops which used to exist within Glasgow city centre.
Display mounts were constructed for a wide range of objects in a number of shop scenes including: the saddlers shop (tools, brasses, saddles and harnesses); the pawn shop (stool, umbrella and drum); the photographers shop (bicycle) and the pub (pipes and walking stick). Various conservation approved materials were used including: brass, wood, stainless steel and perspex.
Each object was measured and photographed on-site. The mounts were then produced in our studio and later installed on-site, thereby reducing the overall cost to Glasgow City Council.
Have a look at a selection of the display mounts in the image gallery above.
