Glasgow Riverside Museum
We were commissioned by Glasgow City Council to produce over 250 mounts for their historic street scene in the new Riverside Museum of Transport|. The scene consists of recreations of old shops which used to exist within Glasgow city centre.
Display mounts were constructed for a wide range of objects in a number of shop scenes including: the saddlers shop (tools, brasses, saddles and harnesses); the pawn shop (stool, umbrella and drum); the photographers shop (bicycle) and the pub (pipes and walking stick). Various conservation approved materials were used including: brass, wood, stainless steel and perspex.
Each object was measured and photographed on-site. The mounts were then produced in our studio and later installed on-site, thereby reducing the overall cost to Glasgow City Council.
Have a look at a selection of the display mounts in the image gallery above.
