Display mounts for the Hancock Museum, Newcastle

Conservation Technologies was contracted by Newcastle Museums to produce a range of mounts for displays at the newly refurbished Hancock Museum, Newcastle|, including mannequins, pendant stands and supports for Egyptian coffins. Many of the mounts were bespoke designs, providing support for the artefacts whilst remaining hidden as far as possible.

All perspex mounts were frosted to reduce glare from the display lights while all the steel mounts were painted. The mounts for the Egyptian coffins were adapted from the original brackets in the display case and constructed from stainless steel with internal telescopic supports.

In total, over 500 mounts were supplied in a three month period.
