Display mounts for the Roman Frontier Gallery at Tullie House Museum

We were approached by Redman Design| to produce and install mounts for the new Roman Frontier Gallery at Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery|.

Situated in the basement of the museum the gallery displays Roman artifacts from its own collections and a number of artifacts on loan from the British Museum. The objects on display were used by Roman and local inhabitants while living in the Carlisle area.

The client required the mounts to be constructed from frosted perspex and stainless steel to match other material used within the cases. Mounts were constructed for a wide range of objects, including: armour, coins, part of a leather tent and pegs, hair pins and necklaces, surgical tools and even a human skeleton.

All mounts were produced in our studio after measuring and photographing the objects. The mounts were then installed on site where any fine adjustments were made, if required. This approach proved very successful and helped to minimise costs to the client.
