Once we have received your payment, your membership pack will be sent within three working days.
If you join at one of our venues you will receive your membership card which you can use immediately to get your discounts. The rest of your membership pack will follow in the post
There is a section on the membership form that you should complete. If you are paying online, there is an option to give membership as a gift.
If you give membership as a gift we will send the welcome pack directly to you. If you would prefer us to send the welcome pack directly to the gift recipient there is a box on the sign-up form which you should tick.

4. What kind of events are members invited to?
Membership events are often focused on a new exhibition at one of our venues and can feature a talk or Q&A session with an invited speaker. Members also have the chance to explore the exhibition outside of normal opening hours and enjoy a complimentary cup of tea or coffee.
Family membership events can include curator-led tours of local wildlife or family-themed events at our venues. Our annual Christmas event also caters for our family members with special activities for children.

7. What is Museum of Liverpool membership?
To celebrate the opening of the Museum of Liverpool, we ran a special version of our standard membership scheme in 2011, with all membership categories costing £100.
Museum of Liverpool membership is no longer available to buy.
8. How long is membership valid for?
Our membership scheme runs from 1 April to 31 March. Having a set period allows us to plan and run the scheme efficiently for our members.
All current standard and Museum of Liverpool memberships are valid until 31 March 2012.
There is no expiry date for Life memberships.
We aim to make membership excellent value for money all year round.

As part of our aim to make membership excellent value for money all year round, we have special offers on standard membership:
January to March - Up to 15 months for the price of 12
Grab a bargain in the New Year with up to three months free membership! All memberships bought at this time will be valid to 31 March the following year.
July - Family memberships reduced
From 1 July until 31 December, take advantage of a special £20 price. Membership is valid until 31 March the following year.
September - Taster memberships
From September to December, a 50% discount is available on all standard membership types. Membership is valid to 31 March the following year - a perfect opportunity to give membership a try!
November and December - Give membership as a gift
A great alternative gift idea for friends, family or even just to treat yourself! Memberships bought as a gift are valid for 15 months from 1 January.
A different project or venue is chosen each membership year to receive support from the membership scheme. The funds raised by our members in 2010/11 were used to support the popular Endurance: Shackleton's Antarctic Adventure exhibition at the Merseyside Maritime Museum.
In our first membership year funds helped to conserve the last surviving motor coach (No.3) from the historic Liverpool Overhead Railway, prior to its display in the new Museum of Liverpool
We will write to you in the New Year to remind you that your membership is due to expire on 31 March.
We will request payment for the coming membership year and on receipt of payment will issue you with your new membership card.
If you are a Life member, you don't ever have to renew.
National Museums Liverpool does not currently accept payment by Direct Debit. You can use the Standing Order details on the membership form to spread your membership fee monthly, quarterly or to set up a regular annual payment for your fees.
