MY MEMORIES OF GOING TO AN AWAY GAME AT BOLTONS BURNDEN PARK.
WE HAD TRAVELLED ON THE SPECIAL ( A TRAIN THAT TAKES SUPPORTERS FROM LIME STREET TO THE AWAY GROUND) BOLTON V EVERTON. AFTER SETTING OFF ON A BRIGHT BUT COLD JANUARY MORNING WE ARRIVED IN BOLTON TO A SNOW COVERED CITY AND GROUND. THE REFEREE DECIDED TO PLAY THE GAME.
THE GAMES WAS ABANDONED AT HALF TIME AFTER THE BOLTON PLAYER PETER REID HAD BROKEN HIS LEG. THE BIGGEST MEMORY OF THIS WAS THAT THE AWAY END WAS OPEN -ENDED SO WE WERE COLD WET AND VERY DISAPPOINTED TO HAVE TRAVELLED WITH NO FINAL RESULT.
