Are you interested in what goes on behind the scenes in a museum or in working within the cultural sector? Are you looking for a career change or just seeking the opportunity to build your CV? Join us for a week-long course to learn about International Slavery Museum’s collections, find out about the work of different teams within the museum and get hands on experience within the cultural sector.

During this free course, participants will have the opportunity to work closely with different teams including our Education team, Curators, Exhibitions, and Communities staff to find out about engaging visitors in our museum collections, explore how we look after and collect our objects and find out what goes into putting an exhibition together. The programme is designed to offer participants an insight into different roles within a museum and will include a mix of taught sessions led by our staff and practical tasks for participants to demonstrate the skills they have gained.

This opportunity is open to anyone over the age of 21 looking to further their understanding of working with the cultural sector, no matter what stage of their career.
