Black German: An Afro-German life in the 20th century

Theodor Michael was born in Germany in 1925 to a Cameroonian father and a German mother, and survived racism and forced labour under the Nazis to become an important spokesman for the Black German consciousness movement.

We present readings from his autobiography by Tayo Aluko, award-winning actor, playwright and singer.
