Join poetess Empress-jai for a presentation about the life and music of jazz songstress, Nina Simone, exploring how she used her music to speak out about inequality and injustice as well as her activism in the Civil Rights Movement.

Empress-jai is renowned for her poetry, spoken word performances and presentations that highlight the contributions of artists who have used literacy, music, art and photography to raise awareness about the lessons that can be learned about the past to create a better future.
