Capoeira for All CIC are running interactive workshops as well as showcasing an explosive dance performance exploring the history of slavery like you’ve never seen before.

Performance: Capoeira For All Dating back to the 16th century and the enslavement of African people by Portuguese migrants in Brazil, Capoeira is an art form that defies description. It is a fight, it is dance, a game. It is creativity, intuition, grace, strength, history and tradition. To understand the movement, music, and magnetism of Capoeira, we must explore the art's fascinating tradition and mysterious history.

There will also be chance to have your say and explore the themes of the performance and then get involved in dance workshops with a difference!

Workshop 1: Capoeira

Workshop 2: Afro Dance and Brazilian Funk
