Meet at the Church Street bandstand

Church Street bandstand to the Albert Dock

As part of Slavery Remembrance Day, join the Walk of Remembrance through Liverpool City Centre to remember ancestors and individuals who, deprived of their liberty, enabled the port of Liverpool to thrive.

Meet at the bandstand on Church Street. The route takes in Liverpool One and passes the site of the historic Old Dock where slaver ships would once have moored and been repaired.

After the walk there is a libation ceremony at the waterfront by the Dr Martin Luther King Building, followed by a programme of events in the International Slavery Museum and Museum of Liverpool. See the Slavery Remembrance Day page for full details.
