Join Katumba for this exciting interactive workshop where you will be able to try drumming and explore rhythms and movement to create a group performance!

There will also be opportunity to find out the history behind the sounds and instruments such as where they come from originally and how they made their way from Africa to Brazil, US, Caribbean and the UK.

Participants in the workshop will be also be offered the opportunity to join Katumba in a Slavery Remembrance Day performance on the Albert Dock on Friday 23 August.

This is a drop-in workshop but there are limited places which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

This event is part of our Slavery Remembrance Day 2019 and Summer event series.
