Walk of Remembrance © Simon Webb
Church Street bandstand to Thomas Steers Way, Liverpool One
Remember ancestors who, deprived of their liberty, enabled the port of Liverpool to thrive.
This year's walk of remembrance will be led by Dr Gee Walker, who lost her 18 year old son, Anthony, in a racially-motivated attack in Huyton in July 2005. The Walker family set up The Anthony Walker Foundation (AWF) following his tragic death.
Meet at the bandstand on Church Street, the route takes in Liverpool One, past the site of the historic Old Dock where slave ships would once have moored and been repaired.
