Join us as we mark the opening of the British dance: Black routes exhibition with a panel discussion exploring the creativity and achievement of Black dancers and choreographers past and present.
Panel members include:
Karen Gallagher, artistic director of Merseyside Dance Initiative
Maxine Brown, Merseyside Dance Initiative member and community dance artist, specialising in African peoples dance
Bill Harpe, founder and director of the Black-E.
Sue Lancaster, dance lecturer at Liverpool Hope University and freelance community dance teacher and choreographer. Sue specialises in Jazz Dance, carrying forward the tradition of her mentor, Liverpool dancer and choreographer Elroy Josephs.
The discussion will be chaired by Professor Christy Adair and Professor Ramsay Burt, curators of the exhibition.
