Lewis Hamilton was born in Stevenage in 1985. He won four races in his 2007 Formula One debut season. In 2008 he became the youngest driver ever to win the title and the first Black driver to do so.
Hamilton's grandparents came from Grenada in the Caribbean. His parents, Anthony and Carmen, named him after the Olympic athlete Carl Lewis.
