Get ready for Slavery Remembrance Day at these special workshops for schools in July.

Human rights poetry workshop

  • Friday 7 July
  • 60 minute workshops available at 10.15am, 11.30am and 1.30pm
  • Maximum group size 32 students

Join us for a creative writing session as part of our human rights poetry day. Students will have the chance to get hands on with museum objects from our human rights collection, consider the importance of human rights and then work with artist and poetess Empress Jai on their own creative writing in response to our galleries. 

This session is a bookable workshop for school groups and can be delivered to suit both Key Stage 2 and 3 groups.

Capoeira for schools

  • Monday 17 and Wednesday 19 July
  • 60 minute workshops available at 10.15am, 11.30am and 1.30pm
  • Maximum group size 32 students

Join us for a taste of the excitement and energy of Capoeira delivered by expert instructors from Capoeira For All, who will work with students to help them to understand the movement, music, and magnetism of Capoeira and explore the art's fascinating tradition and mysterious history, which has roots in the transatlantic slave trade.

This session is a bookable workshop for school groups and can be delivered to suit both Key Stage 2 and 3 groups.
